Analog electronic pop music!!!
MICK MILK "Half Lives LP+7"
anna038 Released: 2011 Format: LP Price: 190.00 SEK
MICK MILK was the early 80's musical outlet of DIY-synth master and guitarist Mick M., back then hailing from New York City, USA. Basically equipped with a Korg MS-20 & MS-10, Casiotone 202, Boss DR-55, Roland TR-606 and other recording gear and effect units, Mick recorded a few dozen of incredibly amazing tracks which cannot be described other than superbly creative in terms of using analogue synthesisers for sound design and song arrangement in electronic pop music while adding brilliant and unique vocal moments to the whole. Even though his music was almost abnormally rich in ideas and both technical and playing skills, proper comparisons are other representatives of the weirder kind of electronic pop music and ahead-of-their-times projects such like Richard Bone, Our Daughter's Wedding, John Bender or Der Plan and Devo. In 1982, Mick recorded his one and only vinyl release, "Half Life" for Cyclops Records (CY-903), a 12" single which also featured famous names Man Parrish and Raul A. Rodriguez as producers. For the album "Half Lives", Anna Logue Records has carefully selected and compiled the 14 most obscure, electronic and label-fitting tracks from his demo tape "Songs for Citizens (1982)" and a batch of previously unreleased tracks from 1982-83. Mastered by Mick himself (with a final touch by A.P) and another brilliant artwork by Steve Lippert, this release marks another true highlight in the Anna Logue Records catalogue. -Anna

BEOGRAD "T.V."
anna036 Released: 2011 Format: 7" Price: 70.00 SEK
BEOGRAD was an electronic pop outfit founded by Dejan Stanisavljevic along with Aleksandar Rodic and Lubodrag Bubalo in Belgrade, Serbia, in the former Yugoslavia. In 1982 they released their one and only 7" single, the classic and highly sought-after minimal electro smasher 'T.V'/'Sanjas li u boji?', with its wonderful Roland CR-78 drum machine, manually played bass synth and high note sequences, lovely harmonies and Serbian vocals. Then, in 1983, their only LP 'Remek depo' was released. Anna Logue Records has now put together a nice 7"EP including both the original 7" tracks plus the superior track from the album, 'Mrak', as well as two very rough and pretty horrible sounding short instrumental demo recordings of 'T.V.' and 'Mrak', included here for the sakes of obscurity, rareness and fun. Definitely a must-have for all into minimal electro, synth wave, cold wave or whatever you wanna call it. -Anna

PASSION POLKA "Obsessions EP"
anna035 Released: 2011 Format: 12" EP Price: 110.00 SEK
PASSION POLKA was an electronic pop outfit founded by Steve Cottier (also in Scope, Xionics, Kinetics, Peep Show) and Keith Leary (also in Peep Show) in Liverpool, UK, presenting here four classic analogue electropop tracks from 1982/1983 in the vein of Camera Obscura, OMD or Oppenheimer Analysis, featuring the Roland TR-808 drum machine and a little armada of the usual synthesiser suspects made by ARP, Korg, Roland and Yamaha. They only released the impossible-to-find 'Obsession'/'Juliet' 7" single back in 1982 on their own Kinetic Rekords label. These tracks are now available again on Anna Logue Records' first 12" ever, remastered by Marc Senasac and with an addition of two beautiful and and previously unreleased 1983 tracks 'Lying next to You' and 'Fighting Alone' which feature Siobhan Maher (River City People, Kindred Spirit) on backing vocals. A must-have for all the aficionados of early 80's romantic electropop. -Anna

RED FETISH "The Future Is Now In Your Hands"
anna034 Released: 2011 Format: 7" Price: 70.00 SEK
The RED FETISH was a minimal electronic pop outfit founded by Neale Potts and Mike Richardson from Stoke-On-Trent, UK (both of ALL THE MADMEN fame) presenting here four classic minimal electronic synth pop hits recorded back in 1982/1983 using a rather minimalistic set-up comprising a Korg KR-55, Korg 770, Korg SD-900 and Yamaha CS-10. This one little beauty is especially for those into a more raw and unpolished analogue synth sound in the vein of early Neon Judgement, Neural Circus, Spotch Forcey and Transparent Illusion. -Anna

TRANSPARENT ILLUSION "Still Human"
anna032 Released: 2010 Format: LP Price: 150.00 SEK
SECOND EDITION Of 500x. TRANSPARENT ILLUSION was the brainchild of Roy Young (a pseudonym), hailing from Haverhill, Suffolk, UK. Equipped with just one synthesiser and a drum kit, he entered Octopus Studios, located in Stowupland, Suffolk, and run by Dave Hoser, in 1980/81 to record the ultimate minimal electronic music album. Roy’s music is nothing but rather unique, there were not many bands around that created a similar sound, except maybe for Neural Circus that are coming to mind. Once again, Roy is a pristine example that limitation can be the perfect source for a massive amount of creativity: the rather raw sound is based solely on his Korg MS-10 synthesiser which was monophonic, of course. Anyway, Roy seemed to have a great imagination as even though the tracks are mostly very short they are far from being poor in textures, with brilliant analogue synth sounds all through (bass, monophonic lead synths, effects, synthetic percussion). Engineer Dave Hoser is said to have helped in the performance, thus it can be concluded that, as a team at least, they truly mastered the MS-10. While the lyrics are a testimony of an angst-ridden teenager living in the Thatcherian-Britain-Cold War era (“This cage is barred – I’m trapped inside”, “I just recede – I dream I’m you”, “Dead bodies decaying – all over the town”, “There’s no way out of this nightmare”), the music, to some surprise, is coming up with many uplifting moments in terms of unexpected melodic parts. So, over the recent years, some people have described “Still Human” as being the ‘Holy Grail’ of minimal electronic music, while others say it is totally overrated. From own experience, it can be said that the album needs its time and a good amount of attention to be understood. Also, to be frank, it must not really be classified at all, as - as mentioned above - it is rather an unique electronic music album, that simply has been too much unavailable for too long in an official form. The original vinyl album “Still Human” and the single “Vortex” were released on Roy’s own label Vex Records but only a few copies managed to sell. TRANSPARENT ILLUSION and Vex Records then vanished into obscurity, but the album and single were remembered by a select few. The value of these rare records continued to rise and over the last years four-digit prices were asked and paid if ever a copy had popped up. People not only tried hard to find those records, many also tried hard to track down the mysterious Roy Young. Nobody managed to succeed – until one day in 2009. It wasn’t an overnight success – and that’s why Anna Logue Records refer to the ‘Holy Grail’ in terms of the true quest that was undertaken to find Roy – but Jochen Lange had persevered for more than two years. Public directories and government records were thoroughly checked and letters were sent … … and received when finally the TRANSPARENT ILLUSION materialized: the highly anticipated letter from Roy himself! The quest was over, the myth became a reality. The result of this chain of events is now in your hands. The man – alive and … Still Human! The album has been carefully remastered from an original vinyl copy by Stefan Bornhorst (aka The Silicon Scientist). Two original demo recordings from 1980 have been added: “Concepts” and “Vortex”, which were taken off the original master tape by courtesy of Nicolas Delbarre and Dave Hoser. The artwork was accurately adapted from the original album by Steve Lippert. -Anna

PAUL CHAMBERS "Stations / Absorptions"
anna030 Released: 2010 Format: LP Price: 190.00 SEK
“Stations/Absorptions” is a comprehensive LP+CD set by PAUL CHAMBERS hailing from the UK and being known for his contribution of the two stunning tracks “Steering Solo” and “Take a Ticket” to the “The Apprentices Dance” LP compilation from 1981 (on US label Sounds Interesting Records, SILP 007). These two tracks, full of Roland CR-78 action and analogue synths, made Anna really want to track down Paul, thus in-house detective Jochen Lange was once again called into action and dear Paul couldn’t hide in obscurity for much longer. PAUL CHAMBERS was truly a pioneer of dark minimal electronic music, starting to record already in 1978! He used a Boss DR-55, Roland SH-1, Korg MS-20 and EDP Wasp, just to name a few, and it’s nothing but pure analogue synthesizer bliss with lots of emotional undertones and the pure honesty of an independent do-it-yourself artist. The LP “Stations” comprises 12 tracks including the majority of his rare vocal tracks (thus also including “Steering Solo” and “Take a Ticket”), recorded between 1979 and 1983, which mark milestones of the minimal electro wave genre while not knowing any boundaries: there is incredible lead synths on “In Tune with the Infinite” or “Mood Two”, noisy guitar accompaniment on “The Appointment with Fear” or a distant distorted lead guitar in “Mood Three”, a certain softness in “You are Time” and “Crazy Lazy”, a sequencer madness in “J 2”, a rather mystic atmosphere in “Never is just a Word” and an icy thrill in “Title Name”. The CD “Absorptions” comprises instrumental and more experimental tracks recorded between 1978 and 1981, which can easily be lined up with the recordings especially by Chris Carter/Throbbing Gristle and The Human League from around the same time, while Paul also acknowledges the influence of Fad Gadget, John Foxx/Ultravox, early Roxy Music, Brian Eno, Gary Numan/Tubeway Army, The Normal, Genocide, Cabaret Voltaire, Suicide, Chrome, Cluster, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Thomas Leer and Robert Rental. The really incredible restoring of very old and very noisy audio tapes and the mastering (or as we called it later on … ‘the magic’) was done by Ton Willekes, to who we owe a deep debt of gratitude. Also, Ton got Anna in contact with the talented artist Jen Clark whose works formed the basis of all artworks in this production, which was – as always – patiently and accurately designed by Steve Lippert. This is a rare merging of individual creativity to one almost perfect whole. Music-wise, finding Paul and unleashing his archives was truly a revelation, so that a total of 28 raw minimal experimental electronic wave tracks from the very early days of home-recorded synthesiser music are now finally seeing the light of day after 30 years time! Paul, this is for you! Lim Ed 500x -Anna

INTELLIGENCE DEPT "Sleeping City"
anna029 Released: 2011 Format: LP Price: 160.00 SEK
“Sleeping City” is the highly anticipated and Anna’s second release in co-operation with the Mannequin label from Rome, Italy. INTELLIGENCE DEPT. were Davide Carlotti (synthesisers, sax, backing vocals), Susanna Zaghi (vocals, lyrics), Stefano Panzera (bass) and Gian Paolo Di Federico (synthesisers, drum machine programming) from Ferrara, Italy. They only ever officially released three, yet totally amazing tracks on the “A White Chance” LP compilation in 1984 (White Studio Recording, WS 001; White Studio was a recording studio in Ferrara). These tracks were “Sleeping City”, “Too Late to Love” and “Anger (Inside)” from their first 5-track demo cassette entitled “Sleeping City” (1984), which also included the track “Loneliness” already known from the “Danza Meccanica – Italian Synth Wave 1982-1987” LP/CD compilation, MNQ 005/ITN 012. Anna was obsessed by these tracks, especially “Too Late to Love”, and she just had to find the band (which by the help of Alessandro Adriani eventually happened, thanks, Ale!). In 1985 they recorded a second 4-track demo entitled “The Big Trouble” but not many people seem to have known about its existence. INTELLIGENCE DEPT.’s music is a unique blend of melancholic 80’s electropop with dark/new wave basses and (not annoying) saxophone action while being fronted by a powerful female vocalist, the lovely Susanna. INTELLIGENCE DEPT. surely had a great potential to become a bigger or more successful band, but those were the times, like many others they faded into obscurity… but were not forgotten, so here we offer them and you a second chance with the retrospective compilation of INTELLIGENCE DEPT.’s works: “Sleeping City”. The vinyl version features all four INTELLIGENCE DEPT. compositions from the “Sleeping City” cassette and all four tracks from the “The Big Trouble” cassette. -Anna

CHROMAGAIN "Any Colour We Liked"
anna028 Released: 2011 Format: LP Price: 160.00 SEK
… is the highly anticipated and Anna’s first release in co-operation with the Mannequin label from Rome, Italy. CHROMAGAIN were Luca Pastore (bass, guitar, synthesiser, lyrics, backing vocals), Silvio Ferrero (synthesisers) and Davide Bassino (vocals, lyrics) from Torino, Italy, and was formed in 1982. CHROMAGAIN had two other singers (at first Riccardo Acuto, then Danilo ‘Dana’ Barbero) before Davide Bassino joined as the main vocalist and core member. They started as a post-punk outfit in 1982, then evolving to one of the top-notch Italian electronic dark wave bands. The influence of Joy Division/New Order is inevitable, the playful and melodic bass and lots of synthesisers form the backbone to their songs. In 1985 they released their only vinyl mini-LP “Any Colour You Like” (Supporti Fonografici, SF 004; this label was also home of the similar sounding Weimar Gesang) which was recorded at TKS studio together Mauro Tavella and Andrea Costa of MONUMENTS fame, so no wonder you may recognize some similarity (the Simmons drum machine on those recording sessions, DX-7 synthesiser, etc.). The mini-LP had five tracks ranging from the rather most Italian dark wave sounding “Satisfied” to the up-beat track “Spot”, from the dark wave killer “Killing Dome” (oh that bass… this is for the goth clubs) to the hauntingly beautiful ballad “After the Clouds” and finally to their most New Order-ish track “Season of Steel”. “Any Colour You Like” has been a highly sought-after and expensive rarity ever since and a re-issue was more than overdue, so here is “Any Colour We Liked”, a retrospective compilation of CHROMAGAIN’s works: The vinyl version of “Any Colour We Liked” includes the complete and remastered mini-LP “Any Colour You Like”, plus “Wake Up” (a different version to the one previously released on the “Danza Meccanica – Italian Synth Wave 1982-1987” LP/CD compilation, MNQ 005/ITN 012), “Ethnicbox” from the “Tracce” LP compilation (1984, Shirak, CNW 8440) plus a previously unreleased Dub Instrumental version of “Season of Steel” and artwork by Mushy (Valentina Fanigliulo), thus covering their later phase from 1984/85 with Davide on vocals. -Anna

LISFRANK "Mask Rewind"
Anna 026 Released: 2009 Format: LP Price: 190.00 SEK
LP+7". LISFRANK was an obscure one-man project from Savona area, Italy, active from 1980 onwards but not releasing much music ever since apart from a few tracks via the own Mask Productions label in 1982 and 1983. The first and only LISFRANK stand-alone release was the 12”EP “Man Mask” (Mask Productions, MKX 01, 1982), definitely one of the best and rarest early 80’s minimal electro 12”s ever and on top of most want lists ever since, including the super hit “It’s Life”, as well as “Violence in my Mind”. “Man without Limits” appeared on the label’s equally rare and sought-after vinyl LP sampler “First Relation” (Mask Productions, MKLP 02, 1983). Another very experimental track called “Ombre” was released on the cassette compilation “The Voice/La Voce” (Area Condizionata AC2, 1983). That was the official story so far, even though LISFRANK was truly a pioneering project with a live appearance at the so-called “New Wave Party” in Savona, already in November 1980! So they were almost as early as Florentine stars Neon. Anyway, it took Anna almost a lifetime to track down LISFRANK, but with the key hint by Fulvio Delprato (thank you so much again!), he was finally found and convinced to release an album which has been entitled “Mask Rewind”. It captures the majority of available recordings from 1980 onwards. LISFRANK’s music is completely analogue electronics with drum machine (or real drums on two tracks), very unique and each a track a classic of its own kind. The early tracks until 1983 are rough and dark, and form the 12” album together with similar early composed but later recorded tracks thus creating an overall and coherent dark atmosphere throughout the whole album. As the 1984/85 tracks “Stay with me” and “My Toy” were more pop-oriented they didn’t perfectly fit to the album’s atmosphere and were thus put onto the accompanying 7”. LISFRANK’s lyrics are very dark and full of despair, dealing with personal fears, self-perception and the problems arising from this and other human interactions (“My mind is like a stormy sea – violent”, “Here is all my bitterness”, “Man without limits – Sees hope die - Man without limits – Sees darkness fall within”, “Imprisoned in a nightmare - My terror becomes desperation” or “Your true identity upsets me”), or other topics like ecological pollution (e.g. “I don’t want to breathe your smog - I don’t want to breathe your poison”). All in all, this release is maybe one of the most important and interesting albums coming out of Italy, made by an intelligent person and great composer who is now occasionally recording again. An alternative mix of “Identity” is also going to be released these days on the LP sampler “Danza Meccanica – Italian Synth Wave 1982-1987” (Mannequin/In The Nighttime, MNQ 005/NT012, 2009). POEME ELECTRONIQUE "The Echoes Fade"
SOLD OUT
Anna 025 Released: 2009 Format: 2xLP Price: 220.00 SEK
POEME ELECTRONIQUE was Dave Hewson (synthesisers, production), Sharon Abbott (lyrics, lead and backing vocals), Julie Ruler (backing vocals) and Les Hewson (bass), formed in 1980 by Dave Hewson in South London, UK, in 1980. Dave was studying music and as a rare kind of student species he had a deep fascination for New Wave and electronic music thus also playing and recording electronic music ever since like using the Boss DR-55, Cosmo Sound Super Drum, Elka Rhapsody 610, EMS Synthi AKS, Korg MS-20(X2)/Polysix/Polyphonic Ensemble 1000/VC-10 Vocoder, Linn Electronics LM-1, Octave Kitten, Roland RS-09/VP-330 Vocoder Plus, Simmons SDS-V Kit and Yamaha CS-80 on this retrospective POEME ELECTRONIQUE album with original material from 1981/82 only. Over the period of more than two years, Dave has remastered these tracks using the latest high-end tools making them sound better than ever before. The deluxe 2LP vinyl album comprises 16 tracks of which 14 have never been published before. “The Echoes Fade” and “Voice” are the original versions taken off their original 7” from 1982. The album “The Echoes Fade” cannot be described other than being a masterpiece and one of the best-ever early 80’s electropop records ever, and it surely has to be lined up with Rational Youth or Experimental Products’ cult albums (in terms of being minimal synth/wave scene reference albums), but to be frank, Anna thinks that POEME ELECTRONIQUE were even above their level. Truly, they had deserved to go on the successful path like Depeche Mode, OMD or Soft Cell, but fate was against them as it seems. The main difference to other electropop groups of the time was definitely that Dave did not only master his synths technically-wise, no, he also knew how to actually play, and when you hear his amazing multi-track ‘manual sequencing’, programming skills, great harmonies and melodies throughout the tracks, along with the two girls’ performances - well they can really sing! – you will agree there is some something remarkably extraordinary in these tracks. You will find minimal electropop super hits like “Rendezvous”, “She’s an Image”, “Fragile”, or “Dilemma”; hauntingly beautiful melancholic tracks like “A Mourner’s Lament”, “This Night” or “It’s in the Atmosphere”; darkest minimal electronics on “Inside his Head”; and even more poppier tracks like “Follow”. This record will hopefully be loved by any electronic music lover and most probably marks the highlight in the growing Anna Logue Records catalogue – therefore Anna did not shy away from any costs and the album is truly an outstanding release in every single aspect including sound and artwork presentation. Apart from the bonus tracks you will find in the 2LP deluxe vinyl edition glossy inner sleeves with lyrics to all songs, as well as individual mini 7” sleeves for each song designed by our dear graphic designer Steve Lippert plus many additional group photos on the gatefold sleeves’ inner. After so many efforts and more than two years passing by, Anna is so over the moon to see this release being ready now and we have done all we could to make this an outstanding release, so now it’s up to you to give the band their final glory, but Anna is in no doubt that – at least after hearing the sound samples - you will. Lim ed 500x -Anna

SILICON SCIENTIST (the) "Poly/Bookmarks II"
Anna 024 Released: 2009 Format: LP Price: 180.00 SEK
LP+CD. Anna is incredibly proud that Stefan / THE SILICON SCIENTIST has chosen to release his second album entitled “Poly” again with Anna Logue Records. His first album “Windows on the World” has received wonderful feedback, from both fans and other musicians worldwide, and he is nowadays recognized as a great influence to many other contemporary electronic music artists. Stefan is indeed one of Germany’s most talented contemporary composers of electronic pop music and taking into account that his time for music is rather limited and that his efforts in playing and finalizing the debut album with SONNENBRANDT in 2008 also took away much of his time for his solo project, his high quality output on all fronts is outstanding. With “Poly” he proves his continuous ability to write substantial and timeless melancholic electropop and electronic wave songs while most of the album’s sounds have been generated on the wonderful Polymoog synthesisers, hence the title! “Silicon Beach” shows the Polymoog’s great versatility to even create lovely South American flute sounds along the all analogue warm and dark synth sounds. On “Meltdown”, fans of The Cure’s Disintegration album will almost get a heart attack from joy – what a wonderful track with real bass and acoustic guitar accompaniment! The album versions of "Oceans of Green" and "Lost City" are reworked and remixed versions of the tracks previously released on the “Colourblind EP”. This time Anna and THE SILICON SCIENTIST are the CD "Bookmarks II" to all copies which is definitely more than just a bonus: it contains 72 minutes of outtakes from the "Poly" recording sessions, tracks from samplers, early mixes of tracks from the previous album and tracks from the very first THE SILICON SCIENTIST album "Inselwinter" which was never released. "Seven" is based upon a demo recording by Marc Schaffer and was accordingly co-written and solely recorded by Stefan. All synthesiser sounds on “Poly” and most of “Bookmarks II” have been generated on real analogue synthesisers (among them Korg MS-10, MS-20, Multimoog, Roland CR-78, SH-101, Solina String Ensemble, Waldorf Pulse Plus) - no virtual machines or plug-ins! The only exception is "Inselwinter I" which contains some sounds from the virtual analogue Access Virus synth... "Poly"/"Bookmarks II" is a masterpiece of melancholic electropop and can hardly be imagined that anyone out there will not love it! Lim ed 500x -Anna

STRANGER STATION "Echoes in Infinity"
Anna 022 Released: 2009 Format: LP Price: 150.00 SEK
There is a lot of playfulness within these tracks, and you can hear they could play and handle their ARP synthesisers, brooding elctronics, wonderful melodies, great use of any effects section of the synthesiser and many changes and new ideas coming and going within the tracks. The lyrics are dark and quite depressive, well influenced by the time when living in Britain back then. All three aforementioned tracks are also included to “Echoes in Infinity”. Truly a classic electronic music album. Recorded Uk 1981. Lim ed 500x - Anna

HANDS OF CAIN (the) "The Only Sound"
Anna 021 Released: 2009 Format: LP Price: 170.00 SEK
LP+7".THE HANDS OF CAIN were Dimitris Chorianopoulos (vocals, bass), Spyros ‘S. Adam’ Floros (drums), Costas Papakitsos (synthesisers) and Dimitris Stamatiou (guitar) from Athens, Greece. In 1983 the HANDS OF CAIN evolved from of one of the first groups of the Greek punk scene of the early 80’s called Ausschwitss when their music was gaining a darker shade and their lyrics were changing to English. Unlike their former group, the HANDS OF CAIN had very little public exposure, but built their reputation amongst the lively Athenian dark wave/post punk scene of the time with a few live gigs in clubs like ‘Skylab’ and ‘Pegasus’. They finally split up in November 1985, and although none of their recordings was ever released their fame lived on. An end was put to this local hidden secret when Dimitris ‘Profitis’ Petrou sent Anna two tracks in Autumn 2007, “Two Steps to the End” and “The Dagger in Me”. Anna was blown away by those tracks and couldn’t believe they have remained unreleased. Of course, this had to be changed. The quality of HOC’s song writing is amazing, these are just strong compositions, and without any doubt, this album will perfectly line up with the best ever goth/dark wave albums being so close to Christian Death’s first recordings as well as the best songs by Bauhaus. Their tracks are pure mid 80’s despair and melancholy, typical of the goth/dark wave scene of the time, although such terms as goth or dark-wave had not yet been invented by journalists back then. The material was (more or less) preserved on dusty 8mm reels and worn-out cassette tapes – it is thanks to Dave Hewson, who digitally transferred and restored these tracks, we owe you much gratitude, Dave – that these essential songs do not remain in total obscurity. Prepare yourself for a milestone not only in Greek music history, but also in goth/dark wave history! Lim Ed 500x -Anna

DILEMMA "Invisible Noise Hunters"
Anna 020 Released: 2009 Format: LP Price: 190.00 SEK
LP+7".DILEMMA was Klaus Hahn and Christoph Schaller, originally from Viersen, Germany. Out of a deep admiration for rough early 80’s minimalistic electrobands like DAF, Portion Control or The Klinik they themselves started early to create some weird tracks with borrowed synthesisers, found metal parts and whatever did create some noise. Klaus’ first projects were The Chemical Death and Cat No Res, but once established as a permanent duo with Christoph they went on as DILEMMA. They recorded around seven tapes in between 1986 and 1990, and made vinyl appearances on the highly collectible releases “Christmas EP” (7” on Dirk Ivens’ Body Records) as well as on “VA – Forms of Elektronik Body Music” (LP on Impuls Records). Also they supported The Klinik on a tour in 1989. Unfortunately, DILEMMA didn’t have much luck since with people letting them down when it came to an album production or even stealing their ideas for other productions, so DILEMMA eventually stopped in 1991. So it needed Anna, who has actually grown up with DILEMMA’s music, to work at the plan to finally give DILEMMA its right place in music history and it has become a little dream come true for all participants that this album sees its final release. Most tracks are taken off their cassette “Dismember your Body” (1988), as well as from “Pure Epitaxial Dilemma” (1987), plus adding three tracks from a 1988 live performance to the 7”. They have been carefully and perfectly restored by Ton Willekes who we own a great deal of gratitude. DILEMMA’s music is pure raw electronic minimalism in the vein of DAF, but with a touch of the mid-80’s Belgian hard electro bands such as The Klinik or Vomito Negro. A monotone Roland TR-505 punches through the tracks with hard sequences and sparse synth effects from the Roland SH-101 and Yamaha CS30m. Two years of work on this release have passed, but it was worth every single effort. Lim Ed 500x -Anna

SONNENBRANDT "Gestern"
Anna 019 Released: 2008 Format: LP Price: 140.00 SEK
Anna has praised SONNENBRANDT right from the very first second and has been asking for the release of their debut album since more than two years. Now they have finally completed it and Anna is so happy that she was allowed to participate in its production and release. So, the album, entitled “Gestern”, engl.: ‘yesterday’, is a co-production between the three labels Anna Logue Records, Hertzschrittmacher (KernKrach) and NLW, joining forces to help SONNENBRANDT finding their way onto the road to success, just because there is no other contemporary act that deserves a wider audience than they do! SONNENBRANDT hails from Hamburg, Germany, was founded in 2003, and consists of Stefan Bornhorst (THE SILICON SCIENTIST, Dreams Encoded, The Convent – synthesisers, programming, vocoder), Jojo Brandt (Voll Wirksam, Liquid Dreams, The Convent – synthesisers, programming, guitars, lyrics, vocals) and his wife Sonja ‘Sonne’ Brandt (lyrics, vocals). They perform the perfect mixture of early 80’s Electropop and Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW) – or “Elektronische Volksmusik” (electronic folk music) as they cutely describe it themselves - paired with German lyrics being entertaining in a funny way, and also as cross as two sticks. The tunes are very catchy, melodic though with some darker melancholic undertones. “Gestern” closes a first chapter being a flashback compiling five years of recording songs. There’s no future without a past. On this album every song is a hit, made for you to sing along (no matter which language you actually speak) and dance to (no matter at which place, sphere or planet you are). Also worth mentioning is a slight participation of Alain Seghir from MARTIN DUPONT as well as the guys from THE MARY ONETTES in “Rotes Telefon”. In no doubt it is thought that everyone out there needs a good dose of SONNENBRANDT, so don’t be shy and support Germany’s most promising underground act by buying their debut album right away! And don’t worry: an LD50 has been estimated by audiophilic experts to approximately 4000 listenings per year (estimations only as no animals or humans have been injured or killed during this album’s production and testing phase). -Anna Logue. SPOON FAZER "Bam Boo EP"
Anna 018 Released: 2008 Format: 7" Price: 75.00 SEK
SPOON FAZER is the early 80's solo project of Simon Patterson from the UK who got his name from his band mates when playing in some in avant-garde punk bands in Devon and London. He is still occasionally called 'Spoon' by old friends. Being originally a drummer, fortunately Simon found interest in working with synthesisers and drum machines. On stage he used to play his electronic drums with guess what … spoons, of course! SPOON FAZER released the "Music 2 Dance 2" 7"EP (Project Records, Project 1, UK, 1980), Sunset 12"EP (Illuminated Records, ILL 912, UK, 1982), which actually featured the first vinyl appearance by Jimmy Caulty of later KLF fame, and was featured on the "East of Croydon" compilation LP (Nothing Shaking Records, SHAK 1, UK, 1981). Apart from that, SPOON FAZER recorded two tapes entitled "Bam Boo" and "Just another Man-in-Sect". The four 'most Anna Logue-compatible' songs from "Bam Boo" (recorded in 1982) were chosen for inclusion on this beautifully designed 7"EP. "Bam Boo" was the musical expression of Simon's obsession with Japan which you will clearly hear throughout the tracks presented here. The last words are Simon's: "Spoon was a mask I wore! But I have now come to terms with the fact that actually I am Spoon Fazer!" -Anna Logue. Lim Ed 333x

TWINS NATALIA "When We Were Young"
Anna 017 Released: 2008 Format: 7" Price: 75.00 SEK
TWINS NATALIA … is a most unreachable dream coming true! Being involved in this project, I feel a bit timid writing this. Anyway, the TWINS NATALIA songs are unique products of creative minds working together in order to write some beautiful, catchy and substantial electropop songs combining an early 80’s musical approach (analogue drum machine sounds, way of sequencing, etc.) with up-to-date recording techniques. TWINS NATALIA is one of the many brainchildren of Steve Lippert, Anna’s permanent and wonderful graphic designer, who we owe so much. The basic musical ideas are composed by Marc Schaffer creating a basic melancholic and melodic structure. Additional composition, arrangement and performance by Dave Hewson, with beautiful lyrics and vocal lines added by Sharon Abbott, performed by Sharon, and Julie Ruler, the latter three well-known from actually being POEME ELECTRONIQUE. In the end, for me this is close to being the perfect electropop. Further tracks are at early stages so a complete TWINS NATALIA album is planned for 2009. -Anna Logue. Lim Ed 333x

CAR CRASH SET "Join the Car Crash Set"
Anna 016 Released: 2008 Format: LP Price: 140.00 SEK
CAR CRASH SET were one of the very few electropop acts coming out of New Zealand and have released several vinyls nationally between 1983 and 1986. Basically, the CAR CRASH SET consisted of synthesists/composers David Bulog and Nigel Russell and guitarist/producer Trevor Reekie, and was formed in late 1981. They created such outstanding electropop songs with a Roland TR-606/808 and such lovely sequencing, - e.g. “Fall from Grace” is definitely a song that Anna will take with her into her grave – that it is indeed a shame that they didn’t receive more attention. Anyway, their 1983 12” ‘Two Songs’ (including “Outsider” and “Fall from Grace”) and the V/A ‘We’ll do our best’ LP (including CAR CRASH SET’s “Toys”) are at least highly collectible items amongst electropop connoisseurs and many people will be happy to see these tracks being available again as well as four previously unavailable demos from both their earliest and later days. David and Nigel are said to be recording again together with only the original Roland gear (“nothing else will do” as David says): TR-606, Jupiter-4, MC-4, System 100m modular and System 104 sequencer as well as Nigel’s Korg MS20… oh well, Anna is prepared! -Anna Logue Lim Ed 400x

POEME ELECTRONIQUE "The Echoes Fade"
Anna 014 Released: 2007 Format: 7" Price: 75.00 SEK
POEME ELECTRONIQUE … oh didn’t we all dream of finding their only vinyl release, ‘The Echoes Fade/VOICE’ 7” single (Carrere Records, 1982) some day? Well, most of us didn’t and probably won’t, and finding the members was equally hard, but thanks to J. Lange’s investigative nature (hey, you’re great!), Dave Hewson, the composer in the group was finally tracked down. To anyone’s surprise, Dave is nowadays a highly respected professional composer working for such institutions like the BBC - definitely not the common career of an early 80’s New Wave/Electropop underground artist. Dave’s kindness and enthusiasm on reworking old POEME ELECTRONIQUE material and reviving the group is extraordinary, and so is his level of production quality. Now one might think that remixes are uninteresting or useless, but when you will hear the work that Dave did on the 7” tracks, you will surely get the impression that some improvement has occurred. The tracks just sound incredible, and now more versatile. For example, in ‘VOICE’, a chorus, though already written in 1982 but never used, has eventually been added and also the vocals have been completely rerecorded this summer. Truly, Sharon and Julie’s voices sound as fresh as 25 years ago! Anna is incredibly proud of releasing this record, and you will be happy to read that this is not the end of story! ADN CKRYSTALL "Minilab"
Anna 013 Released: 2007 Format: LP Price: 180.00 SEK
LP + 7" ADN’ CKRYSTALL is Érick Moncollin (aka Dr. Strange), an artist from France and truly a pioneer in electronic music since the mid-70’s. Already in 1976, he was jamming with Vangelis and Tim Blake in Paris, and he was also testing the KORG MS20 in its flat prototype version (and is still owning and using a MS10 prototype today!). In 1982, he released his first album “Jazz’mad” which definitely is in Anna’s Top-5-electronic-music-albums list. The unique weirdness and brilliance of this album is unequalled and a class of its own. Érick never stopped playing and recording electronic music, but, of course, styles changed over the years. In late 2006, “Jazz’mad” was nearing its 25 years anniversary, and thus Anna asked Érick if he wasn’t interested in recording a sister album to it - in “Jazz’mad” style, of course! Érick enthusiastically agreed and armed himself with his two Kawai Synthesizer-100Fs, Korg KR-33, CRB’1969 Diamond 742, Roland Juno-60, Roland JX-3P, MXR phaser 100, Boss Flanger BF-2 and SDE200 Delay. Paired with his weird performing skills, “Minilab” is a worthy companion to “Jazz’mad” and no-one into minimal electronics shall miss out on it. Lim Ed 400x. -Anna Logue

SUDETEN CRECHE "Wounds"
Anna 012 Released: 2007 Format: 7" Price: 75.00 SEK
SUDETEN CRECHE is Mark Warner and Paul Carlin from the UK and probably they need not much presentation. Their minimalistic electropop track “Are Kisses are out of Fashion”, originally released on the 1982 compilation EP “Europe in the Year Zero” (which amongst others also featured Yazoo), is widely known and respected. Furthermore, they released the four-track 12”EP “Kindergarten” in 1983 on Illuminated Records, which is, of course, very hard to find these days. Anyway, Mark and Paul teamed up again and recorded new tracks for their upcoming album “Kisses from the Creche” - for more info please visit www.sudetencreche.com - and the 7”EP released on Anna Logue Records kind of marks a pre-release presenting alternative versions of “Glorious Treason” and “Wounds”, while “Rogues” is an exclusive track for this vinyl release. This is electropop at its best, both for the dancefloor and the mind and shall bring SUDETEN CRECHE back to publicity and a promising future. Lim ed 400x. -Anna Logue

NEW SHINY THINGS "Changing Colors"
Anna 011 Released: 2007 Format: 7" Price: 75.00 SEK
NEW SHINY THINGS were primarily Sara Ayers and Billy Harrigan with some support from Richard Fuller and Art Snay on additional keys. They were shining from Albany, NY, USA, and released the beautifully haunting “Changing Colors” and the powerful “Breadlines and Dissidence” as a 7” single on Blotto Records in 1982 which nowadays is impossible to find. Both tracks have so much substance and have left an ever-lasting impression on Anna, so that she decided to re-release those tracks plus adding the slightly weirder and previously unreleased ‘post-punk’ track “Crayola Psychosis” (written in 1980, recorded in 1984) to the flipside which was composed and recorded by Billy under the name of OPERATION PLUTO. So, this 7”EP, remastered by Art Snay, and presented in a totally new and beautiful artwork made by Sara, is a great reminder of the work of the late Billy Harrigan, who left the earthly domains in 2001, and Sara who is still a recording artist today. - Anna Logue. CHAIN OF COMMAND "Some Aspects"
Anna 010 Released: 2007 Format: 7" Price: 75.00 SEK
Some may remember CHAIN OF COMMAND from their only vinyl appearance on the brilliant and highly sought-after compilation LP “Subtle Hints” (UK 1983, Sane Records) for which they submitted the track “Some Aspects”. They had recorded a few more tracks which unfortunately didn’t make it onto any further release. Thus, Anna is very proud to present the first CHAIN OF COMMAND vinyl, which makes Matt, Dave and Neil pretty happy today even if the release of their songs has delayed for some 24 years. The 7”EP includes four previously unreleased songs recorded in 1982, and you will surely need to call this vinyl your own! -Anna Logue. Lim Ed 400x

Anna 008 Released: 2006 Format: 7" Price: 60.00 SEK

In the early 80’s they released two tracks on Belgian vinyl compilations “Premonition” on the sought after “Topless Game” LP (1983) and “Sunset Boulevard” on the “Nuit Blanche” LP (1984). “Premonition” was recorded in September 1982 on 24-track and mixed in Dan Lacksman’s (TELEX) SynSound studio in Brussels. Anna is happy to release these two great tracks, the first one heard for the first time, the other one long deleted and now even remastered by Edouard himself. CULTURAL AMNESIA "Enormous Savages"
SOLD OUT
Anna 007 Released: 2006 Format: LP Price: 130.00 SEK
The English band CULTURAL AMNESIA were first active 1979 to 1983, making a kind of post-industrial electropop. With her listeners' tastes in mind, Anna has selected nine tracks to introduce this original and interesting postpunk electro band. None of the music has been available for more than 20 years, and three of the songs are released for the very first time on the LP „Enormous Savages“. COIL fans will be interested to know that the lyrics to three of the songs were written by Geoff Rushton/John Balance, who was a big supporter of the band. -Anna Logue. Lim ed 400x

CAMERA OBSCURA "Strange Faces"
Anna 006 Released: 2006 Format: LP Price: 170.00 SEK
LP + 7". After the release of “Horizons of Suburbia” (ANNA 001) in summer 2005, CAMERA OBSCURA definitely wanted to enter the stage again after more than 20 years of stage absence. They were invited to play at a small Minimal Electro festival called “Alles in einem” (“All in one”) in Hannover, Germany, Oct, 8th, 2005 together with the German projects Sickdoll and Solitude FX. Peter and Nigel performed a fully professional set with lots of love, enthusiasm and fun. Eight tracks from this show were chosen to be released on this vinyl album for those who were there and for those who were not. “Vincent van Gogh” and “Fever Pitch” are yet unheard newly recorded versions. Performing the then totally unknown “Moving the Mercury” eventually led to the release of the 7” (ANNA 002). It was a fantastic evening and we hope this live album has captured some of its great moments. -Anna Logue

SILICON SCIENTIST (the) "Windows on the World"
Anna 005 Released: 2006 Format: LP Price: 160.00 SEK
Comes together with a bonus 7"! THE SILICON SCIENTIST is Stefan Bornhorst from Hamburg, Germany, and you will hear that he definitely has a deep fascination for analogue synthesizers and Electropop. In the early 90’s, he started composing and recording many tracks under the name of DREAMS ENCODED, from which a compilation LP and 7”EP is due later on ANNA LOGUE RECORDS. Some may also know Stefan from playing in the Wave group THE CONVENT in which he played synths both live and in the studio between 1999 and 2003. Also, in 2003, Stefan founded the well known wonderful German Elektropop-NDW group SONNENBRANDT together with CONVENT’s guitar player Jojo Brandt and Jojo’s wife Frau Sonne. Their first proper album is said to be finished very soon, so stay tuned! In his solo project THE SILICON SCIENTIST Stefan continues on a more melancholic path of Electropop, recorded solely with analogue synthesizers and drum machines. -Anna Logue. Lim ed 400x

CAMERA OBSCURA "Strange Faces / Moving the Mercury"
Anna 002 Released: 2006 Format: 7" Price: 60.00 SEK
When CAMERA OBSCURA were playing in Germany last year, they were also playing a fantastic tune yet unknown to the audience. Anna asked them what it was and they said it was another old tune called “Moving the Mercury”. To Anna, it was clear right away that it had to be released on vinyl as well, but it needed quite some convincing to get Peter’s and Nigel’s OK, which was not due to the potential of that song but due to the poor sound quality of the original tape. Anyway, now it has been restored to make it available to you. The next day, Peter told Anna that they had another tune called “Strange Faces” which, back in 1984, was supposed to become a 7”. But, like with the album, this never happened. But, fortunate as you are, Anna once again attended to the affair and so you can get these great songs on a black vinyl-7” oddly enough spinning at 45 rpm on the A-side and 33 1/3 rpm on the B-side. -Anna Logue. Lim Ed 400x

CAMERA OBSCURA "Horizons of Suburbia"
Anna 001 Released: 2005 Format: LP Price: 130.00 SEK
Pure analog Synthpop! The 10 tracks included on this LP were all recorded in 1983 and are all previously unreleased. They were mastered by Peter himself and the best thing even is that through all this they teamed up again to record as Camera Obscura and even on the original equipment! We shall be curious! - Anna logue. Lim ed 400x
